To contribute to the improvement of public health and the advancement of health and medical sciences through comprehensive and systematic research, development projects, and academic activities in the field of Health Science.

- Conducting research, surveys, and data collection in the fields of health and biomedical sciences
- Publishing academic journals and various research reports
- Hosting academic conferences, research presentations, and lectures
- Providing research support and analytical evaluation in environmental, health, and medical fields
- Carrying out other activities necessary to achieve the institute’s objectives (special research funding, institutional support programs, alternative military service programs, association training, etc.)

Purpose of Establishment
The institute aims to explore and industrialize high value bio-based novel materials essential for the biomedical and food industries, including natural drug candidates, functional extracts, bio-foods, and materials derived from genomics, proteomics, and cell-based resources.
- Increasing bioactivity and expanding of usability through bioconversion of biological materials
- Developing optimized technologies for discovering bioactive materials and their industrial application
- Strengthening quality standardization of bio-based materials and improving usability by providing high-quality research resources
- Developing of target activity evaluation methods and investigating disease mechanisms to expand the utility of bio-based materials
