  1. Important Notes

  1. Students approved by the Graduate Committee must pass the Thesis Submission Qualification Examination. Students who have already passed the Comprehensive Examination are considered to have satisfied this requirement.

  2. Foreign language examination results obtained during previous enrollment periods will remain valid.

  3. Doctoral students must meet the second foreign language examination requirement under the same regulations as currently enrolled students. Integrated Master’s–Doctoral students are subject to doctoral program regulations.

  4. Approved applicants must pay the required registration fee (12% of regular tuition) each semester in order to take qualification examinations and submit a thesis/dissertation. A readmission fee will be charged during the first semester after re-entry.

  • Students admitted through this special extension process must pay the required registration fee during every regular tuition payment period (both Spring and Fall semesters).

  1. An extension may be requested only once. Once approved, the student must successfully submit and pass the master’s thesis or doctoral dissertation within two semesters, including the semester in which the extension takes effect.

  2. If the advisor assigned during the student’s previous enrollment has retired, the student must designate a new advisor from among currently employed faculty members.
